'Yardstik' in football   Wednesday, 13th April 2005
	Yardstik has now been applied to the English Football leagues with interesting results. Because it imposes no constraints on fixtures, it has been possible to calculate rating for all 122 clubs in the English football and conference leagues simultaneously. Yardstik also estimates home advantage. The results suggest that many more clubs could be promoted (and relegated) particularly in the intermediate leagues.

	See how Yardstik could work for you. Use your favourite editor (e.g. MS Notepad) to prepare a file of your scores data. Then specify the file name and five program parameters. Press "Upload and Process" and the Player Ratings are calculated immediately. Currently, files upto 30K in size can be processed. Details of the format required are given in "Yardstik/Implementation".
